Comparison

Looking for a Connecteam alternative

These two get compared a lot, and they are not really the same product. One runs your people. The other runs the job from the first call to the money landing in your account.

Is Pinstripe Fleet a Connecteam alternative?

Only if what you actually need is job to cash. Connecteam is strong at managing employees: time clock, shift scheduling, checklists, and company communication. Pinstripe Fleet does crew time too, but it exists to carry a job from the customer record through dispatch and proof of work to an invoice and a card payment. If you do not need to invoice from the software, Connecteam is likely cheaper and closer to what you want. Where another company's prices appear below, they are copied from that company's own pricing page and stamped with the date we read it. Follow the link before you decide, because prices move and ours is the only one we control.

What is the actual difference?

Does it bill the customer?

This is the whole question. Estimates, invoices, a customer portal, and card payments into your own Stripe account are the centre of this product. Connecteam is priced and built around managing employees rather than billing customers, so if the invoice is the thing you need, that is the gap to check first.

  • Invoices
  • Card payments
  • Customer portal

What does it cost per head?

Connecteam publishes a free tier for up to ten users and paid hubs starting at $29 a month billed annually covering the first thirty users, read from their pricing page on 13 August 2026. Ours is a flat plan with five seats included and $12 a month for each seat after that. For a large crew that only needs scheduling and a time clock, their per head cost is lower than ours, plainly.

  • Transparent pricing

Is the customer a first class record?

Here a customer has service locations, contacts, access notes, job history, invoices, and a portal link. Software built around employees does not usually carry the customer that way, and that is what you notice in month two when somebody asks what a property has cost you this year.

  • Reports

Who gets to see money?

If a crew member is not allowed to see prices, the prices and totals are never sent to their device in the first place. That matters more once the software holds invoices and job values rather than only shifts and hours.

  • Role based access

What does each one cost?

Where Connecteam is the better buy

Connecteam is cheaper per person by a wide margin and gives ten users a free tier where our free plan is a single user. For a company that needs a time clock, shift scheduling, checklists, and company wide communication for a large hourly crew, it is the better and cheaper buy, and it covers workforce communication and training that we do not attempt at all.

Who should pick Connecteam instead?

If your problem is scheduling shifts, running a time clock, pushing announcements, and training a large hourly workforce, and your billing already happens somewhere else, Connecteam is cheaper per person and built for exactly that. Buying us for that job would mean paying for invoicing and payments you do not intend to use.

Questions buyers ask us

Is Connecteam cheaper?

For a large crew, usually yes. They publish a free tier for up to ten users and paid hubs starting around $29 a month billed annually covering the first thirty users. We charge a flat plan with five seats included and $12 a month per seat after that, capped at fifteen. Per head, they are the lower number.

Can I run both?

Some companies do, using one tool for workforce communication and another for jobs and billing. It is worth checking whether you are paying twice for time tracking before you settle on that, because both products include it and your crew will only reliably use one.

Does Pinstripe Fleet do shift scheduling?

It schedules jobs and assigns crews to them, and it tracks time against those jobs. It is not a shift rota tool for a workforce that is not doing dispatched job work, so if your scheduling problem is coverage rather than jobs, that is a real difference.

Which one should a small service business start with?

If you are already invoicing customers and chasing payment, start with the one that does invoicing, because that is the part costing you money today. If you are managing a large hourly crew and billing elsewhere, start with the workforce tool.
